The teenage years are some of the most exciting times of our lives! It’s also a time where young girls are experiencing a lot of developmental and emotional change all while trying to determine their identity, maintain friendships, and understand their own ideas and beliefs. I believe it’s key to be proactive in supporting young girls through their trials, give them space to be heard, help them understand they are not alone and they are capable of creating change in their lives.
Some areas in which I help teens create positive change:
- Understanding and managing stress and anxiety
- Coping with transitions and change
- Building self awareness and confidence
- Developing time management skills
- Fostering friendships and close relationships
- Starting and maintaining healthy habits
Every coaching session is client centered and solution focused. Your teen will decide what their goals are and what they want to work towards. Together we will work to envision what it would be like to accomplish that goal, discuss steps to get there, and how to overcome potential barriers. Oftentimes teens may need more “teaching” or scaffolded support than a more mature client. For example, Teens may need to be taught the possible impact of stress or examples of how to set boundaries in their life. My role is to be proactive in offering accountability and support to your teen on their journey of realizing their full potential, creating change, and thriving.
